City of Alexandria

HVAC Company in Alexandria, VA

Brick rowhouses older than the republic, 1920s bungalows, garden apartments and new towers by the Metro. One city, every kind of system.

Old Town’s brick and frame rowhouses were built centuries before central air existed. Ducts end up threaded through closets, soffits and attics never meant to hold them, and many homes rely on a mix of an attic air handler, a basement furnace and a ductless head or two. Tight spaces, plaster walls and historic district rules mean the work has to be planned, not improvised.

Del Ray and Rosemont are mostly early-twentieth-century bungalows, foursquares and colonials, many with additions and finished attics that the original ductwork was never sized for. Hot second floors, weak returns and a basement that stays cold are the common complaints.

Potomac Yard, Carlyle and the Eisenhower Valley are newer: townhomes, condos and high-rise towers where equipment sits in closets and on roofs, and where building rules decide who can work on what. Customers have told us not many companies will take on a high-rise condo diagnosis; we do.

Alexandria questions

Asked in Alexandria.

Can you replace the HVAC in a historic Old Town rowhouse?

Yes. Most Old Town replacements reuse existing chases and equipment locations, and we plan the route, the equipment size and the outdoor unit placement before quoting. If the house is in a historic district, outdoor equipment visible from the street may need city review in addition to the mechanical permit, and we’ll tell you up front if your project needs it.

Why is the second floor of my Del Ray house so much hotter than the first?

Usually it’s the ductwork, not the equipment: too few supply runs upstairs, undersized or missing returns, leaky attic ducts and heat soaking through the roof. We check airflow room by room before recommending anything. Sometimes duct changes fix it; sometimes a ductless head for the top floor is the cleaner answer.

Do you work in Alexandria condo and high-rise buildings?

Yes. We diagnose and replace systems in condos and high-rise units, and we can provide the proposal, insurance, licensing, permit and equipment information many condo associations ask for before approving work.

Integrity Duct & HVAC Services did an amazing job AGAIN! I used them several years ago to replace my furnace and decided to try them again to replace my A/C condenser. The team was timely, professional and detail-oriented. Upon completion they walked me through the entire job, detailing what the replaced, how it works and functions. I will continue to recommend and use Integrity in the future.

This business and their personnel who I interacted with for my HVAC system replacement really lived up to their company’s name: Integrity. They were Roberto, Isaac, Kristhiam, Oscar and Arnardo— all responsive, knowledgeable and very professional. They go out of their way to provide excellent customer service. Now I have a brand new HVAC system that’s up and running, hopefully for a very long time. Thanks, Integrity!

Isaac and his partner were awesome. They came on time. Were polite and courteous. Explained each step.they were taking to.fix the problem. They explained with integrity. They were my second opinion to a large reputable company who said that they couldn't fix my AC and immediately wanted to sell me a whole HVAC system. No sales job with Isaac. Just suggestions without any nudging. Integrity Duct and HVAC Services is my go to company. I tried the other company because Integrity was booked and was hot. In the end, we decided to deal with the heat the old fashioned way, fans, until Integrity came. They were worth the wait.
